Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
